Visits to Karphu Gonpa and Kabab Cheling Gongpa in January, 2015, Lhuentse Dzongkhag, Khoma Gewog.

Karphu Gonpa (Name of place were temple situated) was found and blessed by Terton (Treasure Discover) Ratna Lingpa (1403-1478). (He is the Tibetan terton who compiled the Nyingma Gyubum, Collected Tantras of the Nyingmapas in the fifteenth centure. He is also known by the names of Shikpo Lingpa and Drodul Lingpa because during his single lifetime he revealed the destined termas of three different lifetimes)- sources: Google.

The place is located over-looking the stunning scenic landcapes of Pangkhar, Gangla Khema,Baptong and Kemsong villages. We are very blessed and quite lucky to see and received blessing from various statues and ritual items at this temple because it’s usually restricted to visitors for over-seeing and receive the blessing. The temple owner is very kind enough to accept our request made by the Khoma Gewog Agriculture Extension Officer viz. Mr. Tashi Wangdi during germplasm collecton time in 29/01/2015.

During same day together with collection, we made visit to Gonpa Karphu Lhakhag or called it Kabab Cheling Gongpa( Name of temple). According to the oral accounts of temple’s care taker, it was founded and blessed by great master like Lam Tsoktruel Rangel,Lam Cheying Rangdol and Lam Pema Rangdol.

The Goenpa (Common phrase attached with names of temple and monastery in Bhutan) is beautifully located akin to that of 360 degree angle view of breath taking vales and mountains. From these top hills one can view whole lhuentse district areas of forested land, arable land and the entire ecosystem with snow capped mountains in higher elevation during winter. During our visit the main temple was undergoing major renovation with additional two new temples were under construction. The main Nangtoen( Relics ) inside the temple are statues of Choelong Treul Sum( Dharmakaya, Sambokaya, Nirmakaya- Sanskrit), Guru Tsokhor Sum, and great statues of Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, and the great master Rigzin Jigme Lingpa

It is a must place to visit these sacred places besides Singye Dzong and Sangay Lodro temple, if anyone are travelling to this place in Khoma Gewog.
